I wanted to show you the scope & versitility of my work, so i chose shots taken over the past few years, spanning from here in America accross the Atlantic to parts of Europe and the Mediteranian. Only a few are Photoshopped, and those are easy to spot. But don't be fooled by the 'reflection' photos of the mills and cars. None of those are retouched in anyway except as usually done in a darkroom.

Fire on Montauk Ave, Misquamicut

The tone came in as "working structure fire, kids jumping from the windows"....what more can i say? My husband responded immediatly to the station, I told him I'd meet him at the scene. I had to find a sitter for our grandson first.
Ambulances, emergency vehicles, police cars all went speeding past my house, and when at last I arrived on scene, all i could see was smoke billowing over the neighborhood.
Misquamicut and Watch Hill fire dept.'s were there, already enmassed in and around the building. Water lines ran from all directions, and after 40 harrowing minutes, the fire was out.The cause is still unknown.
As a post script, the "kids" were in fact young adults, in their late teens/early twenties, and all escaped unharmed.
The building they say went up in total flames in a matter of moments. One minute the smoke detectors were going off, and the next the house was completely engulfed. My ffavorite 'series' of pictures here is the window billowing and buckling from the heat, just before it blew out!
Again, team work between Misquamicut & Watch Hill is to be praised. See the pictures of each one helping the next exchange air bottles and you will understand, and teams from both departments on hoses and entering the building.
They are, again, to be commended for their bravery and comradery.

These images stetch from the northeastern United States to the western coast in California and Washington State (and many in between). Mostly though, you will see the great state of Rhode Island, and the area of Misquamicut and Watch Hill.

This was an assignment job unlike any other i've done. I was chosen to be the still photogrqapher for the filming of a new gut wrenching independant film by Alessio Cappeletti about bigotry and racism in the late fifties/early sixties. I was lucky enough to work with some BRILLIANT young people, filled with passion for their art and a deep understanding of the world around them. So often people ask "what's wrong with kids today?". My response is to point them towards this amazing, dedicated crew of film-makers and show them exactly what's right! THANK YOU Alessio, and every-one involved, for bringing this story to life on the screen and for allowing me to be a part of the process. I'll see you at Cannes!!

these images are from the house fire on lawton ave., misquamicut ri on 02.24.08, they are for sale to firefighters, police & ems personel only. the departments recieved discs at no charge for their own use.
the fire departments in this amazing shoot are the misquamicut volunteer fire department and watch hill volunteer fire department.
the tone went off at aprox. 09.47h and i arrived just before the first hose was opened aproximately about 7 min later.
less than five short minutes later all flames were extinguished. in all, i shot almost 400 pictures.
shown here are remarkable pictures of comradery, teamwork and real brotherly love among men that is so prevalent in firefighters accross the country.
i hope you are as proud of your fire departments as i am of both of mine. remember that all across the country, all over the world, every day, they fight without hesitation and with incredible heartfelt bravery that which we fear.
thank them the next time you see them.

I love shooting windows. Reflections in them, looking through them, people looking out, shadows and curtains. They tell a story of sorts. And there's always something new.

This collection is all reflections. In windows, on cars and motorcycles, in water, from anything. And by turning my camera slightly the image is not what one would expect. Seemingly transformed from just a fueltank on a motorcycle to an abstract of wings and light, or the river shots turned up-side-down turn into a fantasyland. For me, these are as much fun to take as they are to see.
